Apples for Teachers

Each year we provide apples and pieces of chocolate to 400 teachers and staff at 4 local schools (elementary, middle and high schools). This is our way of letting them know their local Rotary club appreciates what they do to support our students.

Veterans Day Celebration Tyrone, GA

For the past several years Fayette Daybreak Rotary Club members have collaborated with the Town of Tyrone for the Veterans Day celebration at Veterans Park in Tyrone. We visit with the veterans and their families and serve coffee and soft drinks along with pastries. The 100+ Veterans and family members at last year's event enjoyed a beautiful fall day with the Sandy Creek High JROTC color guard and award-winning chorus as part of the ceremonies.

Building Future Rotarians and Our Community

Our grant is designed to develop local youth into future leaders while teaching them the value of community service and effective goal setting. Our grant will benefit three community organizations AVPride (Youth,, Armed Forces Mission (Veterans, and BASTAS (Seniors, We will use the money from the grant to buy

  • Basic need items for seniors (toothpaste, soap, deodorant, socks, blankets) to be donated to BASTAS,
  • suicide prevention training curriculum for AFM,
  • computers for AVPride.

The AVPRIDE students will "earn" the computers for their organization by volunteering at community service projects. They will be asked to volunteer with Rotarians at the holiday gift-wrapping party hosted by BASTAS. They will also be asked to volunteer as helpers at the AFM “Push-Up Challenge” fundraising event. In addition, they will be required to attend suicide prevention training classes (the training that our Club’s grant money will help support).

Our Club will also support several of the AVPRIDE students to join the Sandy Creek High School Interact Club, which Fayette Daybreak sponsors. This will benefit the AVPRIDE students and will also encourage the Interact Club to join us in service projects.

Through these experiences, our goal is to help the AVPRIDE students learn leadership skills and the value of community service and cooperative/collaborative efforts. (In addition, they will be helping earn the computers that AVPRIDE desperately needs!). The computers will be used to create marketing materials and develop social media campaigns to promote both AFM and BASTAS. When these projects are completed, AVPRIDE will keep the computers for students to use for doing homework, etc.

We will be soliciting local businesses and other community partners for matching funds, as needed, to assist with our efforts.
